AU pairings 2

I am sooo sorry for the lack of activity, life's been busy lately! But I swear I have a ton of other drawings already finished and all I need to do is write the respective headcanons and stories for each, so stay tuned :3




Starlight Glimmer & Sunburst & Trixie Lulamoon
- The three Unicorns fell in love with one another thanks to Starlight, who felt a very strong affection towards both her childhood friend, and her newest friend. She confessed her love to Sunburst first, hoping he'd understand it better, and later explained how she felt to Trixie as well, with the help of the orange Unicorn. Even if Sunburst and Trixie didn't love each other romantically, they didn't really mind "sharing" Starlight as their marefriend.
- Starlight eventually decided to have a foal with her stallion and soon enough Lucent Starlight was conceived. Trixie felt happier than ever during her partner's pregnancy, since Starlight was even more affectionate than usual, but she and Sunburst also got the chance to spend a lot more time together. Trixie found herself looking for the wizard's company more and more, until she finally realized that she loved him as much as she loved Starlight. Declaring her love to him, she discovered that he reciprocated. The two soon talked to Starlight, little time after the colt was born, and the mare couldn't have been happier.
- The new couple decided to take it slowly while still cherishing the new-mother, and a few years later they had their first daughter, Zenith Sky.


Cheerilee & Big MacIntosh
- Despite the potion accident caused by the CMCs, the primary school teacher and the apple farmer remained good friends and sometimes hung out together, just to chat and take a break from their satisfying but tiring daily routines. It was especially Cheerilee who felt the need to relax more often than Big Mac, so, under his offer, she started showing up at the farm to spend some time with him drinking cider or lying on the grass. Apple Bloom certainly noticed the mare's signs of interest in her brother, but chose to keep silent this time. Cheerilee indeed showed that she enjoyed Big Mac's company more than any other friend, but it took the stallion longer to realize it. He finally did on one Apple Family Reunion, when he'd invited the pink mare to have fun and party. They both ended up drinking more cider than they should have in a stupid contest, which led them to spending the night together. They did remember everything the day after and mutually decided not to talk of it ever again (though Cheerilee's look of disappointment at the agreement wasn't unnoticed by Big Mac). They tried going back to being friends, but it was inevitably awkward and uncomfortable afterwards, so they almost stopped seeing each other at all after a little time. 
- Cheerilee showed up a few months later with the worrying news of her unexpected pregnancy. She cried in Big Mac's arms for hours, not really because she was afraid of having to raise a foal, but because she was sure the father didn't love her back and, she thought, never would. Big Mac refused to act as cowardly as his fears were suggesting, and instead promised Cheerilee he'd take care of the baby in quality of real father. The mare's joy then was impossible to describe, and it was the true beginning of their relationship.
- Though many may see this couple as a passionate and similar to those of romance tales, it's only Cheerilee's enthusiastic feelings which give this impression. Big Mac's love is actually quite milder and he cherishes his three children far more than he ever did their mother. The beautifully calm façade fell, however, three years after their first daughter, Pink Lady, was born. The arguments between the married couple had gradually increased since her birth, and Cheerilee had even started threatening she'd leave with the two foals: she suddenly felt uncared for, though Mac's tepid behavior had never changed over the years and she was probably just noticing it then. They seemed to have found a solution at a point, but the respite lasted only a few weeks (during which, unknown to both parents, a third foal was conceived) and the fights began once more afterwards. Cheerilee's fragile feelings made her act stupidly cocky, and after receiving a gender-bending spell she ended up having a one-night escapade with a character I'll reveal later. 
- Big Mac found out shortly after about this and, needless to say, he was extremely disappointed and upset by her behavior. He only cared for their children after that and refused to talk to her unless strictly necessary. This had a great negative influence on Ian and Pink Lady especially, who started despising her father convinced it'd been his fault. The stallion was about to ask for divorce, when Cheerilee decided to tell him that she was expecting his third foal. He was suspicious at first, but eventually chose to wait for the baby to be born before officially separating from the mare. 
- Just a few months after Cheerilee gave birth to Elstar, the two parents divorced and Big Mac got the custody of the three foals. He only ever let their mother spend time with them few times a week, and even more seldom when Cheerilee moved to a rather distant town. The youngest sibling didn't really suffer her absence and found a supportive companion in her brother (and father, of course), especially when the older sister acted as a bully to her. Big Mac was always very busy with the farm work, and the few times he could spend the evening with his foals Pink Lady almost always rejected his affection.
- The situation slowly improved with the passing of years, but Big Mac and Cheerilee never got back on good terms, both preferring not to. And whereas Ian and Pink Lady grew more and more distant from their father (Ian in a neutral and Lady in a negative way), Elstar only got closer to him.


Vinyl Scratch & Octavia Melody
- Vinyl Scratch was born in Manehattan as a normal and healthy filly, but her parents were destroyed when they discovered that, at the young age of 2 years, their daughter had become mute. It broke their heart to know that they'd never hear the voice of their creature, but they couldn't do anything at all about it. Anyway, the filly grew up happy and never minded her deficiency, or at least she didn't show it. She loved music and enjoyed taking part in concerts or musicals, even though she didn't really want to be a part of that world. Everything changed when she went to a concert in Canterlot with her brother, a red-maned DJ Unicorn named Turntable, and she discovered her talent. Life went on as before after that, but Vinyl was now performing in her city's most famous and popular discos, gaining success and fans.
- It all started when Vinyl decided to make an important change: she abandoned her shining career and began searching for a house she could share with roommates in "humbler" places. She found one in Ponyville, practically the opposite of the lively and sleepless city she was coming from, but she didn't mind. She loved making new experiences. To her disappointment, though, she discovered her roommate was a classical music lover, a gray Earth Pony named Octavia Melody, who spent her days practicing on her cello. This almost made Vinyl change her mind, but she remembered promising to herself to accept any situation life proposed to her. And so, their life together began.
- It was terribly annoying to have a fancy gal playing her boring instrument all morning and evening long while Vinyl tried to put her ideas together on the next performance, and it was very difficult and uneasy for Octavia to communicate to the Unicorn, because she hardly understood her hoof language and often needed her to write down her sentences. But slowly (very slowly) the two mares started bearing each other and living as if the other didn't even exist.
- One day Octavia received from an acquaintance of hers a couple of tickets for a rock and pop concert taking place just in Ponyville in a few days' time. She offered them to Vinyl, who nicely asked her if she wanted to come, too, since she hadn't made many friends in town. The night was fun for both of them, but while Vinyl preferred staying by the stage, Octavia soon decided it was no suitable space for her and moved to the drinks' table. It was a bad decision. Vinyl had to carry her home all the way long, since the mare was not used to the effects of alcohol and couldn't think straight after only three or four glasses. Once at home, Vinyl's scolding hoof signs were promptly ignored and made fun of, which hit the white Unicorn deeply and saddened her to the point she almost didn't even care for her roommate anymore. However, even if her sight was cloudy and blurry, Octavia recognized her friend and became worried for her, afraid she had said something wrong. Excited by the alcohol and dizzy from the strong feelings she was going to face by comforting her friend, Octavia leaned in and kissed Vinyl passionately . She fell asleep a few minutes later, but Vinyl couldn't close her eyes all night long. The day after, as soon as the memory reached Octavia’s mind, she rushed to Vinyl and apologized for her foolish behavior, but what she got in response made her blush and smile at the same time. Vinyl hoof-said it had surprised her, but in a good way, and she wouldn't mind it if that would lead to something more than a simple tolerating friendship. That was enough for Octavia to repeat the previous night's action and embrace her new lover once more.


Button Mash & Sweetie Belle
- Even though they were in the same class in elementary school, they only started to notice each other in high school (they both attended a scientific high school before Sweetie left it and began a choral-artistic one). Button saw Sweetie as truly beautiful, but also knew that she was absolutely out of his league. The Unicorn, instead, found him to be a sincere and reliable friend and even naively accepted the colt’s proposal of a romantic date-of-sorts, deceiving him greatly.
- Button was left alone and sorrowful when Sweetie began her fiery relationship with Scootaloo, but he chose to be always there for her and supported her lovingly after she broke up with the Pegasus. Sweetie mindlessly used him to fill the void she felt in her heart, not realizing how much she’d actually hurt him misleading him so. The two were in a doubtful relationship for a while before Button opened his eyes and understood that Sweetie was simply keeping him as a sort of consolation prize. He decided to leave her, and even moved to another town to avoid being reminded of his pain every time he saw her.
- Years later, Sweetie finally found the courage to go look for Button and apologize, having soon realized her mistakes after his disappearance. She proposed trying again and the young stallion, after the first few uncertainties, hesitantly accepted. Sweetie’s love grew honest and pure this time, and the couple soon decided to start living together. In a few months’ time they officially got engaged, and celebrated their wedding a year after.


Pipsqueak & Tender Taps & Apple Bloom
- It was thanks to Apple Bloom that these three ponies got together, and she was the first to feel romantically and physically attracted to both her partners. The two young stallions were bemused at first and obviously tended to compete for the filly, who suggested they spent some time without her to solve the issue. Pipsqueak and Tender Taps gradually grew fonder of each other before falling in love as Apple Bloom had vaguely hoped. The three of them officially got together shortly after, but not many ponies knew about their relationship.
- Apple Bloom got pregnant with Tender Taps before the three ponies could even think about getting serious, but the only one to actually worry was Taps himself, who was afraid of not being ready to be a father yet. Their first child, Autumn Gem, who then decided to identify as a filly, was later the rings bearer at the three young lovers’ wedding (the first polyamorous one in Ponyville).
- The mare’s second foal came as another surprise and Pipsqueak almost fainted when he found out he was the father. The colt, Elias, grew up distant from his family and found his only friend in his sister.


Rumble & Scootaloo
- Childhood sweethearts first, and fierce rivals then, the two Pegasi had a tortuous relationship since they were foals. They got together for a bet in their early adolescent years, but Scootaloo’s arrogant behavior made Rumble disregard and despise her to the point they became bitter enemies.
- The filly tried to forget him undertaking a relationship with Sweetie Belle (whom she had a crush on), but after things ended she couldn’t deny feeling attracted to the young stallion anymore. They mutually started a love-hatred relationship, full of angry intercourse and cheatings which were the result of years of repressed attraction (not only physical, though).
- Rumble chose to declare his love, out of the blue, and left Scootaloo completely astonished by his gentle and tender personality. They started sharing an apartment and Scoots suddenly found herself pregnant; though worried, the lovers decided to keep the foal and live together.
- After their son, Fire Thunderstorm, was old enough, the family started travelling and moving from one country to the other, never remaining too long in the same city.


Lyra & Bon Bon
- Both fillies were born in Ponyville and were friends since foal school. They shared every important moment of their life and were very attached to one another. They had to go through difficult situations and many fights, of course, but it had always looked like they grew even closer after that.
- Their friendship had got so strong that they considered each other sisters, until one day Lyra suddenly became duller, though Bon Bon couldn't understand what was making her so sad. She reached her house a rainy evening and decided to stay with her all night long to try to comfort her and solve her problem. The Unicorn remained quiet and distant from her friend until she couldn't bear the silence anymore and started talking. Listened by a surprised and quite concerned Bon Bon, Lyra revealed lately she had begun feeling more and more nervous any time she was around, and feared her new sensations might have ruined their bond. After long and suffered thinking, she had realized she wanted more than being just a friend to the Earth Pony, and she had felt extremely guilty, to the point she had started hoping that, if she hadn't seen her friend for some time, these feelings would have gone and everything would have come back to normal. Bon Bon didn't say a word through Lyra's speech and let her finish before taking a decision she wouldn't have regretted. The kiss she gave the Unicorn sealed the secret love they felt for one another and freed Lyra from her several worries.
- The pair has lived together since then: their relationship is a healthy and steady one, and the two lovers don't really care about what other ponies think of them, even though Ponyville has never hated them and still considers them the same nice and friendly mares.
- They decided to adopt an orphan after a couple of years, and the strong emotional bond they created with a disable Pegasus determined their definitive choice: they’ve been a happy family since the colt came into the picture.
