Sunset Shimmer

Heeeere we go! I wanted to draw her since Adagio's headcanon, but I wasn't inspired so I had to wait xD I preferred this "bad" girl's behaving in Equestria Girls' sequel, Rainbow Rocks. Not that i liked that last "Friendship-really-is-magic-an-dall" part with all the singing and those things, but I think in the first film Sunset Shimmer was way too much empathized as villain. And then, there she is, on the edge of a crater, crying for mercy or whatever. I mean, too much of a change in a second. I... I don't think it's the same thing with Luna, since this one had 1'000 years to think, but a few moments... Before those seconds she was willing to destroy and enslave everything, and then she completely transforms. Meh. I don't know, it probably is how she changed so suddenly that I didn't like. Anyway, I really love her colour scheme and above all her hair. Her hair style is simply beautiful, a match between Rarity and Dash, more or less. Oh, and her eye colour. Amazing, in my opinion. I love that water light blue <3 Ahem. However, here we go with the headcanon ^^


Since she was really young, Sunset Shimmer always demonstrated great magic skills. She always improved and she amazed the judges of shows or the teachers, at school. She was not born in Canterlot, nor she lived there. She was in Manehattan until Celestia took her as her pupil. The princesses were visiting the city because of some royal duty, and they saw a filly performing some difficult and elaborated spells in front of a small crowd. Celestia noticed a spark in the filly's eyes, but she was not sure what that meant. Anyway, she wanted to discover it. She decided to help Sunset Shimmer improve more and more as her studies went further and time passed. At the beginning, there was an incredible complicity between the white alicorn and the orange Unicorn. They loved playing jokes to the dark princess, who often "revenged" later. They always ended up laughing and enjoying every moment. That, until a stormy afternoon. 
Celestia said to Sunset Shimmer that Alicorns had some powers that normal ponies can't have. For example, alicorns can control winds and rain. Sunset Shimmer was surprised when she heard those words. She now loved the princesses even more, and wanted to become just like them, to rule by their side. The teen kept on practicing with passion, growing always better and better. No Unicorn had ever reached her level of magic abilities. After all, at those times Twilight was only 3 or 4 (so, yeah, there's an age gap of no more than 12 or 13 years). Anyway, one day a stormy cloud came above Canterlot, announcing an imminent temporal. Luna, Celestia and Sunset Shimmer were playing in the garden of the castle, but now they had to go inside and interrupt their game. Luna was quite annoyed but decided not to complain about the weather. Celestia smiled at the sister's pout and walked inside, shaking the rain drops away from her coat. When she turned, however, she didn't see what, or, better, who, she thought was behind her. Sunset Shimmer was still under the rain, with her horn glowing. Celestia knew that if the Unicorn tried to cast some kind of weather spell, everything may have turned for the worse, so she decided to stop the orange Unicorn. But before she could do anything, the cloud was no longer black and grey, the rain stopped and the air became cleaner. Sunset Shimmer had cut off that storm. She was amazed herself, she couldn't believe she had just done it. Now she had a power only Alicorns had. Now she was almost as strong as the princesses. Why reign by their side? Why not reign, instead, over them? These thoughts started to form in her mind, as Celestia scolded her and took her inside. 
That was the beginning of Sunset Shimmer's envy, arrogance and wickedness. She still remained Celestia's pupil for years, until she decided to know more about that portal which takes to another dimension. The young mare wanted to become the most powerful of ponies, so great that she could surpass her teacher. Celestia refused to help her any longer when she discovered what her studies aimed to. She banned her from the Castle, and forbid her to visit one of the royal sisters ever again. The white alicorn had completely lost trust in Sunset Shimmer, and the hatred and vengeance in the Unicorn's heart was growing.
